Ceremony, cocktail hour, dance floor

The ceremony

Guests arriving, the processional, the walk down the aisle, the first kiss and the recessional. You choose a song for each moment, and we plan the timing with your coordinator. On a beach, a lawn, a garden terrace or in a ballroom.

Cocktail hour & dinner

Smooth jazz, R&B and pop covers while your guests mingle and the photos are being taken. Soft enough to talk over, alive enough that people turn around and listen. This is the hour most couples book a sax player for, and the one guests remember.

The dance floor

Your DJ keeps the music going and I play live on top: house, EDM and pop hits with a saxophone over them. It is the moment the whole room gets up. How live sax with a DJ works.

How it works technically

In 90% of weddings I connect directly to your DJ’s setup: Plug & Play, zero stress for you. If your location doesn’t have a sound system, I bring my own professional speakers: $150 for one, $250 for two.

A travel fee may apply outside San Diego County.

Your aisle song, played live

I play pop, jazz, smooth jazz, R&B, house and EDM. If there is a song that means something to the two of you, for the aisle or the first dance, tell me and I will learn it for your day. Before the wedding we go through the timeline together, so you know exactly what plays when.

I have played on stage for 17 years, including Dubai’s Bvlgari resort and top hotels in Tunisia. Now I play weddings across San Diego: downtown and the Gaslamp, La Jolla, Del Mar, Coronado and Point Loma, and all of North County. Getting married among the vineyards? Wedding sax questions

How much does a sax player cost for a wedding in San Diego?

My wedding packages run from $500 for one hour to $1,300 for about four hours of full-day coverage. Basic ($700) and Prime ($1,000) are the ones couples book most. A travel fee may apply outside San Diego County. Send me your date and city, and you will have an exact price the same day. Not a wedding? Parties and company events are booked by the hour, from $400.

Can you play only the ceremony, or only the cocktail hour?

Yes. My Minimum package is one hour on any part of the wedding. Many couples book one part of the day, others book from the ceremony through to the dance floor. Tell me which moments matter to you and I will suggest the timing.

What good saxophone songs are there for a wedding?

Pop love songs and R&B classics work beautifully on sax, for the aisle and for the first dance. Send me your favourites, or ask me for ideas that suit your venue and your crowd.

What do you need from the venue?

A professional wireless sound system is included. In 90% of weddings I connect directly to your DJ’s setup (Plug & Play, zero stress for you). If your location doesn’t have a sound system, I can bring my own professional speakers: $150 for one, $250 for two. I am fully insured and provide a COI for your venue. We sort out the timing with your coordinator and your DJ before the day, so there are no surprises.
